Fast Motion Driver Shaft
The relaunched platform gives golfers in Japan a direct channel to learn about and purchase Newton Golf products. It also provides the company with a localized foundation for supporting product introductions, professional-player engagement and the continued development of its distribution network in the market.
Central to the expansion is the Japanese introduction of Newton Golf’s updated Fast Motion driver shaft and Motion driver and fairway shafts, collectively referred to as its 2.0 shafts and distinguished by green product logos.
The products incorporate Newton Golf’s proprietary DOT System, which replaces traditional shaft-flex categories with a numerical scale from one to seven based on a golfer’s swing speed. Once a DOT number is assigned, golfers can use that same rating across driver and fairway wood shafts. Newton Golf expects to extend the same fitting framework to hybrid shafts in 2027, creating greater consistency throughout the bag.
The 2.0 refinements are designed to deliver more consistent performance characteristics, tighter ball-flight dispersion, improved continuity between driver and fairway shaft specifications and a broader fitting profile across player types. Newton Golf also believes the updated designs support greater manufacturing consistency and tighter production tolerances.
Supporting the product introduction is Newton Golf’s new partnership with PGA TOUR Champions / Japan PGA Tour player Hiroyuki Fujita. The relationship is intended to increase awareness of the company’s physics-driven shaft technology and strengthen its connection with golfers in Japan as Newton Golf expands its direct-to-consumer and distribution presence.
Fujita has won 18 tournaments on the Japan Golf Tour and reached No. 43 in the Official World Golf Ranking. In 2012, he won four Japan Golf Tour events, including the season-ending Golf Nippon Series JT Cup, and finished the season as the tour’s leading money winner and most valuable player. Most recently, he won the Trust Group Cup Sasebo Senior Open on October 11, 2026, after shooting a final-round 65.
“The Newton Golf 2.0 shaft gives me the consistent feel, stability and ball-flight control I look for throughout the swing,” said Fujita. “Its performance gives me confidence to make committed swings, and I look forward to helping more golfers in Japan experience the technology.”
The Japan initiative builds on growing professional adoption of Newton Golf products. As of the end of the second quarter of 2026, more than 77 professional golfers were using Newton Motion and Fast Motion shafts across the PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions, LPGA and Korn Ferry Tours. The company also reported strong initial conversion from prior-generation shafts to its 2.0 products.
“This expansion brings together the key elements of our strategy in Japan: a stronger direct-to-consumer platform, our latest shaft technology, a simpler and more consistent fitting approach through the DOT System, and an accomplished professional who can help golfers understand its performance,” said Akinobu Yorihiro, interim CEO and CTO of Newton Golf. “Through NewtonGolf.jp and our partnership with Hiroyuki Fujita, we are making our products more accessible while helping golfers identify and carry a consistent DOT fit across the bag and building greater awareness of Newton Golf across the Japanese market.”
Japan has approximately 2,200 golf courses – second in the world after the U.S. The overall Japan golf market is estimated to be worth $9.7 billion in 2026 and projected to grow at a 3.4% CAGR to approximately $11.9 billion by 2031, according to Ken Research. The country’s deep-rooted golf culture, extensive course network and sophisticated consumer base make it an attractive market for premium golf equipment brands. The established golf culture and demand for advanced equipment provide a strong foundation for Newton Golf’s enhanced e-commerce presence, 2.0 shaft introduction and partnership with Hiroyuki Fujita.
The expanded presence in Japan follows Newton Golf’s recent entry into Korea and represents another step in the company’s broader growth strategy across Asia.
