Merrill has spent more than 25 years focusing on risk management and compliance in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical technology industries. His expertise focused on legal and regulatory FDA Advertising and Promotion Review Compliance, Healthcare Compliance Program Development and FDA and OIG Enforcement Remediation. He has assisted companies of all sizes both in-house and as an advisor.

The key foundation that Merrill brings to the role is the following:
Expert Enterprise Foundation: Led healthcare compliance, promotional review, and regulatory affairs groups at companies like Abbott Laboratories, Biovail, Adolor, and a healthcare compliance advisory practice at Ernst & Young.

Proven Exits: Founded Searchlight Compliance Advisors, then co-founded OneSource Regulatory & Technology, the first firm of its kind to leverage a tech-enabled services strategy that he built into an industry standard before its acquisition by ProPharma Group.

Scale & Advisory: Ran platform integration and expansion as SVP at ProPharma Group and has served as a board advisor to many AI health tech startups developing and deploying AI technology solutions in the industry, like Areti Health and other Stealth Startups focusing on regulatory compliance.

Health Tech Startup and Investment: Founded a stealth health tech startup focused on utilizing AI to disrupt Pharma and Biotech commercialization product communications and invested in other health tech ventures through Quarrius Capital Partners.
