NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, October 28, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — AirDroid Parental Control has expanded its YouTube content detection to iOS, giving families with children using iPhones and iPads a way to review selected YouTube activity and receive alerts when monitored keywords appear in video titles or descriptions. The capability was previously available for Android child devices.
In AirDroid’s analysis of aggregated, anonymized usage trends for June 2026, YouTube recorded the highest total usage time among the apps studied, averaging 72 minutes per active user per day across the analyzed devices. The findings highlight YouTube’s role in children’s daily digital lives and provide context for AirDroid’s expansion of YouTube content detection to iOS.
On iOS, the feature works through a linked Google account. Parents begin setup in the Social Content Detection section of AirDroid Parental Control, where the child account holder signs in and grants the required access. Once connected, parents can review videos uploaded by the child, videos the child has liked, and new uploads from channels the child subscribes to.
Parents choose keywords relevant to their family’s concerns, such as bullying or age-inappropriate topics. AirDroid checks for those terms in the titles and descriptions of supported videos and can send an alert when a match is detected. The built-in AI Keyword Assistant can suggest related terms to help parents develop their keyword lists.
“Parents shouldn’t have to choose between knowing nothing and knowing everything,” said Bailey Morgan, Head of Family Digital Safety Content at AirDroid.
The alerts are intended to help parents identify activity that may deserve a closer look or a conversation. A keyword match alone does not establish that a video is harmful, and the feature does not provide a complete history of everything a child watches on YouTube.
YouTube content detection joins AirDroid’s existing iOS tools for screen-time limits, app management, scheduled downtime and website restrictions. Families can use the activity information to inform discussions about the channels children follow and the videos they engage with, alongside the device rules already in place.
YouTube detection is available through AirDroid Kids for iPhone and iPad. Families can get started by updating the child’s app, linking the Google account and configuring keywords in AirDroid Parental Control. Further information is available on AirDroid’s YouTube parental controls page.
