Alignment Health Plan and Astrana Health Partner to Expand Access to Trusted Local Care for California Seniors
New collaboration expands access to multilingual, community-based care across seven Northern and Southern California

ORANGE, Calif., Oct. 19, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Alignment Health Plan, an award-winning Medicare Advantage (MA) plan from Alignment Health, today announced a provider arrangement with Astrana Health, a leading value-based care organization with deep roots in California, that will expand in-network access to primary and specialty care for Medicare Advantage beneficiaries across Southern and Northern California. Beginning Jan. 1, 2027, the collaboration will serve members in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
California’s older adults are increasingly diverse, with nearly 4 in 10 speaking a language other than English at home, according to the California Department of Aging. Through its arrangement with Astrana, Alignment is expanding access to physicians rooted in the communities they serve, many of whom offer multilingual and culturally responsive care. Members across the seven-county service area will have in-network access to Astrana’s network of 3,000 primary care providers and 6,500 specialists. The service area is home to more than 3.7 million people with Medicare, according to data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services as of September 2026.1

Care That Reflects California’s Diverse Communities
The provider arrangement will support members across multiple Alignment plans, including Central Health Harmony (HMO), Alignment’s new Medicare Advantage plan designed for Chinese-, Korean- and Vietnamese-speaking seniors in Los Angeles and Orange counties. Through Astrana-affiliated practices and other network providers, Central Health Harmony members will have access to more than 600 in-language primary care physicians.
Trusted Local Care Across California
- Southern California: Through Astrana’s affiliated medical groups, Alignment Health is expanding access to coordinated, community-based care for Medicare beneficiaries across Southern California. These provider networks reflect the diversity of the communities they serve, offering culturally responsive care and multilingual support while meeting the needs of members who prefer care in English. Allied Pacific of California IPA, one of the largest physician networks in the San Gabriel Valley, has cared for patients since 1992, with providers offering care in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese and Spanish. Daehan Prospect Medical Group provides care across Orange and Los Angeles counties, with strong ties to Korean American communities, while Prospect Nuestra Familia Medical Group offers locally based care with experience supporting Hispanic communities with services available in both Spanish and English. In the Inland Empire, Alpha Care Medical Group provides another established local network for Medicare beneficiaries.
- Northern California: Alignment is continuing to strengthen access to care in Northern California. Through its arrangements with Astrana Health and Bay Area Care Partners in Santa Clara County, as well as its relationship with All American Medical Group (AAMG) in San Francisco and San Mateo counties, Alignment is expanding access to trusted primary and specialty care providers across the area.
