Fleet unifies asset tracking, live operational visibility, maintenance, and flight review for
commercial and military UAS teams.
CHICAGO, IL, UNITED STATES, October 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Applied Aeronautics today introduced Fleet, an online platform that connects aircraft, equipment, personnel, and operational data in one shared workspace. Designed for commercial and military users, Fleet brings continuity to every stage of an operation, from equipment preparation and mission execution to maintenance and postflight analysis.
As drone operations grow, so does the challenge of keeping aircraft records, equipment inventories, maintenance requirements, and flight information connected. Fleet brings these functions together, giving teams a clearer picture of operational readiness and a direct link between what happens in the field and the records supporting each aircraft.
“The aircraft is one part of a much larger operation,” said Ryan Johnston, CEO of Applied Aeronautics. “Fleet connects everything around it: the equipment, the people, the maintenance, and the flight data. Our customers can follow an operation live, understand what happened afterward, and prepare for what comes next. Bringing that together in one platform means less time managing disconnected information and more time focused on the mission.”
Connected Assets. Clearer Readiness.
Fleet extends asset management beyond aircraft to batteries, payloads, ground stations, radios, antennas, tools, and spare parts. Customers can define their own equipment types and usage units, adapting the platform to their operational requirements.
Individual records capture identifiers, photographs, notes, aircraft assignments, operator custody, usage, and lifecycle history. Printable QR labels connect physical equipment directly to its digital record, making information accessible in the field or workshop.
Battery cycle tracking, inventory movements, and stock levels give teams visibility into equipment usage and availability. Custom maintenance schedules and work orders connect that history with upcoming service requirements, while reorder indicators tied to maintenance cycles help teams anticipate replacement needs and have the right parts on hand before service is due. Together, these capabilities support maintenance planning, reduce avoidable downtime, and help keep aircraft ready for their next mission.
Live Operational Visibility Through Existing Ground-Station Telemetry
Fleet connects flight crews with the people supporting an operation through live aircraft position and telemetry received by Applied Aeronautics Ground Station, or AAGS.
Remote participants can follow flights through live maps, Cockpit displays, and read-only AAGS views. Sharing is opt-in, and the operating crew retains aircraft control. This gives project managers, airport personnel, exercise coordinators, and technical support teams a shared view as an operation unfolds.
The capability recently supported an airport operation, providing pilots of manned aircraft and airport personnel with real-time visibility of where Applied Aeronautics aircraft were operating throughout the flights.
Fleet delivered that view using existing ground-station telemetry and an internet connection, without requiring onboard cellular equipment or ADS-B Out to supply the Fleet display. For customers, this creates a practical way to extend operational awareness beyond the flight crew without adding dedicated onboard connectivity hardware for that purpose.
Flight Data That Stays Connected to the Mission
After landing, Fleet brings together logs, notes, photographs, videos, flight-health reviews, and 3D replay. Teams can revisit recorded flights, investigate issues, and preserve findings alongside the aircraft and equipment involved.
For commercial operators, that connected history supports project review, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning. For military users, it supports after-action review, training, and continuity between crews. Information gathered during one flight remains available to inform the next.
Software downloads, support requests, documentation, and simulation resources further connect customers with the Applied Aeronautics ecosystem, bringing preparation, training, and system support into the same workspace.
By linking physical assets with live telemetry, maintenance requirements, and operational history, Fleet gives customers a connected view of their operation: what is available, what is happening, and what needs attention next.
